We’re proud to share that Bodynetic has been featured in Vulcan Post, one of Singapore’s leading business and startup publications. The article tells the story of how we got here, and where we’re going.
Bodynetic started with a vision to redefine how individuals approach posture care. With a foundation rooted in scientific understanding and practical application, the journey has inspired many. We have collected numerous testimonials from clients who have experienced transformations in their posture and overall health. These stories showcase the effectiveness of our programs and highlight the importance of proper posture in daily life.
It started with a question
Emile Dumont’s journey is not just about creating a business; it’s about addressing a pressing issue that affects many people today. Poor posture is often overlooked, yet it can lead to serious health problems over time. By asking the right questions and seeking to understand the root causes of posture-related issues, Emile was able to identify a significant gap in the market and create a solution that resonates with people from all walks of life.
The Posture Lab serves as a prime example of how passion and insight can lead to successful ventures. In that first year, Emile hosted community workshops, inviting people to learn about the importance of posture and how it impacts their daily activities. These workshops not only showcased the demand for such services but also fostered a sense of community among attendees, with many expressing gratitude for the knowledge shared.
Our founder, Emile Dumont, is an exercise and sports science practitioner. After his role at a stretching studio ended, he started asking why so many people sell posture correction when so few people see real results.
The transition to online content during the pandemic was not merely a reaction; it was a strategic pivot that positioned Bodynetic as a leader in the digital health space. Emile and his team utilized social media platforms to engage with clients, offering live Q&A sessions and interactive tutorials. This approach helped maintain client relationships, demonstrating the adaptability of Bodynetic in challenging times.
That question led him to start The Posture Lab with an initial S$10K investment and a very small studio. The first year showed there was real demand.
Each of the three pillars of Bodynetic is designed to complement one another, creating a holistic approach to wellness. For instance, the physical classes not only provide immediate benefits but also encourage participants to engage with the digital content for ongoing support. This integrated system ensures that users have access to resources that fit their varying needs, whether they prefer in-person interaction or the flexibility of online programs.
Turning a crisis into innovation
When the pandemic closed the studio, Emile had to rethink everything. The team moved into online content and education. Clients kept asking one thing: “Am I doing this exercise correctly?” Sharing correction videos back and forth wasn’t scalable, and that gap became the idea behind Bodynetic.
Three pillars, one mission
Bodynetic now combines:
- Physical: certifications and group classes, delivered in partnership with venues.
- Digital: pre-recorded audio and video programmes built for hotels, lounges, studios, gyms and more.
- App: our AI-enabled app, which uses computer vision and movement tracking so people can exercise anywhere, anytime, with real-time feedback and no trainer needed on site.
Training visually impaired athletes is an endeavor that showcases Bodynetic’s commitment to inclusivity. By developing specialized programs tailored to the unique challenges faced by these athletes, we not only empower them but also raise awareness about the importance of accessibility in fitness. Furthermore, our efforts to improve app accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities reflect our belief that wellness should be a universal experience.
Aiming to impact 1,000,000 people is an ambitious goal, but one that we believe is achievable through continuous innovation and collaboration. As we expand our reach, we are actively seeking partnerships with organizations that share our vision for a healthier society. By leveraging technology and community engagement, we hope to inspire individuals to take charge of their health and well-being.
Wellness that includes everyone
Our expansion plans involve not only reaching new markets but also adapting our offerings to meet the unique needs of diverse populations. Understanding cultural nuances and preferences will be key to our success. By conducting thorough market research and engaging with local communities, we aim to tailor our wellness programs for maximum impact.
For three years, we’ve trained visually impaired athletes in Singapore. We’ve also tested our app with people with autism and continue to improve its accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities.
Ultimately, Bodynetic is more than just a health tech company; it’s a movement toward wellness and proper posture for everyone. As we look to the future, we remain committed to innovating and adapting our services to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Join us on this journey to redefine posture care and make a lasting impact on health and wellness.
Our goal is to positively impact 1,000,000 people. As a member of raiSE (Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise), we aim to begin impacting more people as our app begins to grow across the region.
